🌍✈️ We’ve fully embraced the nomad mindset, and the past few weeks have been a whirlwind of excitement and adventure for the Colletta & Co. family. 🌟
Our journey began in Pasadena, CA, where James and Carol returned to their old stomping grounds for a night, reminiscing about the nine fantastic years they spent there. Next up, Washington, DC, where James presented on Capitol Hill! 🏛️ Being so close to Calvin’s best friends, we couldn’t resist taking the opportunity to hop on a train to New York City for the weekend of 1/28-29. 🗽 Calvin and his pals had a blast racing RC cars in Central Park, while the rest of us enjoyed exploring a new side of the city from our Midtown hotel. 🚖
Back in DC for another week, James got to experience a Capitals hockey game as a surprise “work function” 🏒, while the rest of the family delved into the many layers of the Natural History Museum on the National Mall. Once we’d had our fill of the northeastern cold ❄️, it was time to warm up with a Caribbean cruise 🚢. We sailed from San Juan, Puerto Rico, visiting stunning destinations like Aruba and St. Kitts, and even splurged on a beach bungalow at Kokomo Beach in Curaçao. 🏖️🍹
Upon our return to San Juan, we explored more of the charming Old Town and enjoyed the local vibes on Super Bowl night. 🇵🇷 After a quick stop in Old Town Alexandria, VA, we headed back to Pasadena, CA, to refit ourselves and visit Colletta in storage. Then, it was off to Honolulu, HI, for James’ Army Reserve duty and a month-long island adventure with the family, filled with sun, sand, and surf. 🌴🌊
In Oahu, we revisited our favorite restaurants, like Steak Shack in Waikiki and Storto’s Sandwiches in Haleiwa, and enjoyed our beloved beaches, like Laniakea Beach on the North Shore. We also discovered new attractions, like Sea Life Park at Waimanalo Beach. 🐠
For Millie’s birthday, we treated ourselves to a magical weekend at Disney’s Aulani Resort, where the kids spent 48 hours swimming, playing, and dining with beloved characters like Mickey, Minnie, and Stitch. 🎂🎉
Now, we find ourselves back in the California desert, basking in the warm serenity of Julian and Blair Valley. 🌵🌞 As we enjoy the quiet, ever-changing landscape and our speedy Starlink internet, we can’t help but feel grateful for the incredible experiences and memories we’ve made.
